A Case of Abdominal Injury-Related Bile Leak Treated by Endoscopic Nasobiliary Drainage

Abstract
A 34 year old man was referred after primary suture of the liver and cholecystectomy due to liver rupture following blunt abdominal trauma. He was diagnosed as having an injury of the intrahepatic bile leak. The setting was considered as an
indication
for endoscopic nasobiliary drainage, a nasobiliary tube was inserted and kept so during his hospitalization.
After insertion of nasobiliary tube, his general condition gradually improved and follow-up image studies obtained 2 weeks later revaled good bile passage into duodenum without bile leakage. Accordingly the nasobiliary tube was removed.
In conclusion, endoscopic nasobiliary drainage will be a good alternative treatment to surgical or percutaneous drainage in the bile leak related bile duct injury.
